Planetarium (Gwan-heo Cosmos Hall)
I have been Manager of the Seoul National University planetarium—Gwan-heo Cosmos Hall (관허 코스모스홀)—since November 2022. I operate programs and public events at the facility: over 500 hours of programming for 200+ public events, welcoming 6,000+ visitors. As part of the university’s “research outcomes for society” initiative, the planetarium hosts regular open events (lectures, sky shows, observatory visits) for the general public.
SkyExplorer & planetarium scripts
I became proficient in SkyExplorer (RSA Cosmos) and use it to design planetarium running scripts. I have created 10+ original scripts, all used for public outreach events and student-tailored classes, including SNU SPARC, Astronomy (001), Human and Universe (001), and other courses.
TA training
From 2022 to 2024 I conducted basic planetarium usage training for teaching assistants (TAs) whose courses use the planetarium, so that they could operate the facility safely and effectively.
Manager training & handover
Beyond TA support, I also trained the incoming and current planetarium managers, ensuring institutional continuity of the facility's operation and program design.
STEM Outreach Events using Planetariums
I led a credit-bearing seminar (1 credit) titled “STEM Outreach Events using Planetariums”, with 12 students. The seminar used the planetarium as the main venue for outreach design and delivery. In 2023 the program received the 4th Prize, Seoul National University Student-Directed Educational Program Awards.
Full-dome content: A way to infinity
To address the lack of free full-dome content for school planetariums, I translated the free English full-dome show “A way to infinity” into Korean and produced planetarium-ready subtitles. The original show is at FDDB: A way to infinity.
IOAA Planetarium Round preparation
Since 2023 I have been specialized in preparing the Korean team for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) Planetarium Round. I create in-house planetarium-round mock exams, solutions, and operation scripts for training. Problem sets and solutions are available in this IOAA Planetarium Round mock test folder. To my knowledge, this is the only such planetarium Olympiad preparation material produced in Korea.
Art performance preparation
I contributed to the ArtSpace@Seoul National University Opening Ceremony (Aug.–Sep. 2023) as a member of the preparation team, developing a performance that combined the cosmos, Korean traditional music, and a short film in the planetarium.
