KAO & International Olympiads (IOAA / IAO)

I care deeply about nurturing the next generation and supporting juniors who love astronomy—helping them stay curious and continue in the field. I have put real effort into this: teaching, mentoring, and creating opportunities so that more people can discover and sustain their interest in astronomy.

I have been involved with the Korean Astronomical Olympiad (KAO) since 2022 as a teaching assistant and instructor for the national team selection camps. My role includes leading theoretical and practical sessions at KAO Summer and Winter Schools (2023–2025). I also run planetarium round preparation and have been doing it mainly since 2023. Boot camp instruction: I served as Instructor for the final boot camp ahead of the 17th and 18th International Olympiads on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA), and as Instructor for the final boot camp ahead of the 26th International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO). These intensive camps prepare the Korean national team in both theory and observation before the international competitions.

26th IAO (Oct. 2022): I served as Technician & Vice Team Leader for the Korean delegation: I helped manage logistics, supervised exams, and led grade negotiations on behalf of the national team.

My own background includes participation in the International Astronomy Olympiad (Silver Medal, 21st IAO 2016; Bronze Medal, 22nd IAO 2017), which motivates my commitment to training the next generation of KAO participants.
